TERMS & CONDITIONS
As a condition to participating in the singing competition, you (individually, or if a group, individually and jointly) agree to comply with the rules as found on www.vocalsport.com, as transmitted to you by email (or otherwise), and as found in these Terms and Conditions.
By entering the competition, you agree to the following:
RELEASE OF YOUR IMAGES AND VIDEOS (to be agreed to by each contestant or parent/guardian)
You agree that the publicity that may occur from your entry into a competition is adequate consideration for granting, and you hereby grant Vocal Sport an irrevocable, non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, fully paid-up, assignable license to use, reproduce, display, modify, and create derivative works of all or any portion of your Images submitted, taken, recorded or derived under the terms of this agreement by Vocal Sport or its agents and the same shall belong to Vocal Sport. You release any of the rights that you have or may have had in or to said Images. The term Images means your photograph(s), likeness, voice, film footage, video, audio, testimonials and/or interviews, or any portion thereof. In connection herewith, Vocal Sport may use the Images for advertising or promoting Vocal Sport’s products and services in any way without obligation of compensating you. All right, title and interest in and to your Images taken, recorded or derived under the terms of this agreement by Vocal Sport or its agents shall belong to Vocal Sport and you release any of the rights that you have or may have had in or to said Images. Vocal Sport may post contestant videos on YouTube, but does not guarantee that YouTube will accept the videos, in which case, Vocal Sport has no obligation to feature videos on their YouTube channel. Vocal Sport may choose not to feature any videos in any way at their discretion.
INDEMNITY FOR MUSIC TRACKS
For the Live Singing Competition, minus tracks must be purchased from one of the approved sources listed on the music or rules page. By submitting your song (whether minus tracks or otherwise), you are agreeing that you have secured the appropriate permission to use the song and agree to indemnify Vocal Sport against any claims arising from the use of your song in connection with your participation in Vocal Sport.
CONTESTANTS UNDER AGE 18
Contestants under the age of 18 MUST have permission from their parent or guardian to enter the competition.
CHAPERONES
Children and teens under 18 must have an adult chaperone at all times.
PRIZES
Prizes may be subject to tax. Nothing herein obligates Vocal Sport to provide any talent agent services, artist development services, referrals or promotion of any kind to winners. Prizes and distribution of prizes are subject to change depending on the final number of entries. If there are a low number of entries in a given category, Vocal Sport may modify the amount or not award the prize. If the winner is under 18 years of age, the prize will be awarded in the name of a parent or legal guardian.
PRIZES FROM SPONSORS
Sponsor prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize sponsors. Some prizes are offered locally and winners must agree to travel to sponsor’s location (or as otherwise directed by the sponsor) to claim their prizes. Winners must contact prize sponsors immediately and comply with all prize sponsor requirements. Vocal Sport disclaims all responsibility for the delivery, content, and quality of the sponsor prizes. Sponsor prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value. Prizes may be subject to tax. Vocal Sport and its respective sponsors are independent of each other and neither have the right to contractually bind the other.
DISCLAIMER
If deemed necessary for execution of any competition, Vocal Sport may change without notice to you the format, categories, age-divisions, prize amounts, or dates and locations of the competitions. You agree that any claim you may have for direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damages arising from such changes is limited to the entry fee you paid.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS
Contestant must observe the following requirements or be removed from the line-up or disqualified:
SONG CHANGES AND EMERGENCY BACK-UP
Due to the song-screening process, there is a $20 fee to change songs after you submit your song (minus tracks or self-accompanied). Please request the song change by email before sending the new song. No song changes accepted after deadline. All minus tracks are pre-recorded back-to-back prior to the competition. As an emergency back-up, contestants should bring a copy of their song on a flash drive or downloaded on a phone to the competition (don’t turn it in). Please do not try to give flash drive or phone to the sound techs at the competition–it messes up the pre-recorded song order and creates room for error. (Self-accompanied contestants are also not permitted to change their song without notice.)
WAIVER
Vocal Sport and its employees, agents and sponsors are not responsible for misdirected entries, human error, technical malfunction, or to inform you when you have failed to comply with the rules. You agree to waive any claims against Vocal Sport arising from the foregoing. You further agree to accept any and all results as concluded by the judges, prize sponsors, talent scouts, or competition committee and waive all claims against Vocal Sport and its employees and agents for such outcomes.
COMMUNICATION AND DEADLINES
No reminders will be given regarding deadlines. Follow-through is the responsibility of the contestants. Contestants will receive replies to all their emails and submissions within several days. If a reply is not received, contestants must resend the information (please check junk mail folder). Finalists must meet the deadline for song submission or be replaced without a refund.
Note: First place winners are not eligible to compete in future Vocal Sport live singing competitions, except in a different category.

- Music–All genres allowed except heavy rock and metal, or songs with an excessive, heavy beat
- Lyrics–No offensive language (including casual or inappropriate use of names of deity), no suggestive lyrics or themes
- Movements/Choreography–Must be appropriate for a family audience
- Wardrobe–No extremely tight, low-cut, or revealing clothes. No spaghetti straps, strapless, or halter tops. Skirts and shorts must be at least fingertip length. No very high slits in skirts/dresses. No bare stomachs.
- Content–Must not include material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory, slanderous or libelous, including material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on age, disability, gender, nationality, race, religion, or sexual orientation or that is otherwise unlawful.
