SUMMER 2017 ONLINE COMPETITION & TALENT SEARCH
MALLORY KATE | ADULT CATEGORY (AGES 18+)
Mallory Ownbey (artist name Mallory Kate) has been performing on stage for 10 years, having her debut performance in Farmington, Utah for 4,000 people. She was then invited back 5 years in a row to sing at the same fair.
She has performed at fairs, carnivals, fundraisers, and festivals all across the state of Utah. She has also sung the National Anthem at a Jazz game, and at the Rio Tinto for 4 RSL games. Her amazing rendition of the National Anthem is one of the things she's known for. In 2013, Mallory was invited to come sing the National Anthem before the Davis County firework show at Davis High School, 10,000 attended that night. She was then invited back in 2014 to sing a few songs during the fireworks.
Mallory is on the soundtrack for an upcoming Broadway play called “Changing Minds” playing the character Shelly. She has won a state-wide vocal competition and got to sing at Miller Motor Sports park. Mallory has also won a Utah Music Award in 2015 in the pop-genre for her song “Today”. She has also been featured on several Utah radio stations for being one of “Utah’s up-and-coming singers.”
Mallory has been invited to perform at a private party for celebrity Michelle Money earlier this year and has been invited back for her next one later this year. Earlier this year, she opened for Maddie Wilson at Audio West in Orem, Utah. She has only sung on Fox 13 and for Elder Oaks (one of the 12 apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) at an event at Primary Children’s Hospital.
Mallory’s goal for writing music is to create songs that she wished existed, and to write music that makes people feel better in every aspect. She believes music is one of the most powerful things that the world has, so she has promised herself and her family that she will always use music (and fame, if that comes) for the right reasons.
